To... the future!

Quick post before I go to my next class.

If you were to take a video camera to any of the Disney Parks and record your whole experience, then look at it 15 years from now. What would you say? What do you hope will have changed, and in what way?
Do this for any of the parks, but be specific!

I'll do one later today after class.

  1. Alright, so if I saw a video of a Magic Kingdom park visit today, fifteen years from now this is what I would think. Now remember, this is assuming that things I think will happen actually did happen. This is from the perspective of me, 15 years from now, in the magic kingdom in my mind.

    - I am glad that they got rid of toon town and I am much more pleased with the newer bigger fantasyland. I am glad that fantasyland is now the biggest section of the park, because that is how it should be.
    - I am still disappointed with the state of tomorrowland. Although I am glad they got rid of that terrible Stitch attraction, I think there is still a lot of growth that could be done here.
    - Main street hasn't changed at all, and I am glad. I am still happy with the look and feel of this area of the park.
    - Adventureland could use some touch up, it looks the same as it did back then. The tree house could use some work as well as the merchandise locations. The new Jungle Cruise script is fresh and was a good improvement on the old one. The new updated and even more Jack Sparrow'd pirates was a downgrade in my opinion.
    - Liberty square looks as fresh as ever. Obama was a great attraction then, and the current president was a great addition 7 years ago. I am not sure if they can keep up with the trend of great new animitronics in this attraction. We will see next year :) The recent Haunted Mansion refurb was great. Some of the older stuff was looking kind of ratty. And the Escher room needed some touch up. The updated lighting system in the banquet scene was a great touch, and I now feel even more immersed in the ghostly world.
    - I am so glad that Thunder Mountain FINALLY got a refurb. The trains were looking pretty bad and the scenery was losing color. The new additions to the Flash Flood scene are great. The new lap bars on splash mountain are a good addition and I dont feel like they take anything away from the experience. I am glad they keep this attraction looking great with their annual refurbs. I never thought I would say it, but I miss country bears. The new restaurant that took its place is really nice, frontierland needed a fine dining restaurant, but I wish they didn't get rid of country bears.

  2. I still miss horizons.
    I still hate Mission Space.

I am loving that they built a whole Alice in Wonderland theme park.

I really miss Stitches Great Escape, and I know you do too Tom. It was our favorite attraction, remember?

I am so happy they brought back old Figment.

They have also added a new tapestry parade.. where the floats look strangely a lot like you Tom as a child with a jacket over your head.

Fantasmic is still the same. and I still love it as much as I do now.

They also just opened an entire Country Bear theme park - didn't see that one coming!

  3. My favorite thing is the connected Skyway above all of the parks and how the cast members who previously rode Segways are now using hover boards. I also love the new teleportation stations. Who knew so much could be accomplished in a mere 15 years! I can't believe I'm 40!
